*Title:    SAP Transportation (LES) Analyst*

*Location: Dallas, TX          *

*Duration: Contract to Hire *

*The Senior SAP TRANSPORTATION ANALYST is responsible for the identification
and development of business process changes and improvements for SAP and the
CMC transportation departments. This requires analysis, justification, and
planning of those opportunities as well as the configuration, testing, and
documentation of the requisite system changes. *

* *

*Staying well informed of software developments and technology trends is a
crucial part of this position. This would include sifting through all the
technology information to determine if and how new developments can improve
processes at CMC. The Senior SAP TRANSPORTATION ANALYST should bring a
thorough understanding of business processes to the team as well as a strong
background in the integration points with the other SAP modules. The desire
to continue personal education in related areas such as business, project
management, and technology is important. *

*Communication in a number of areas is essential for this position. The
Senior SAP TRANSPORTATION ANALYST should be a liaison between the business
community and IT for the alignment of business & technology goals in
Logistics. He/she should participate actively as a SAP team member by
passing on business experience and technical expertise to other team members
in a cooperative team environment. *

*Detailed Duties and Responsibilities: *

* *

** Gather and document Business Requirements and opportunities for Business
Process Improvement*

** Provide technical SAP - TRANSPORTATION ANALYST configuration expertise to
deliver the best feasible solutions for CMC and develop functional designs
that require development*

** Document SAP - TRANSPORTATION configuration and processes in accordance
with IT department standards*

** Develop positive working relationships with the Business Organization
(liaison between the Transportation Depts and SAP)*

** Communicate effectively and credibly with all organizational levels, with
the specific ability to gain trust, draw out needs, creatively propose
ideas, and immediately and expertly resolve conflicts and concerns*

** Understand the ever-changing business environment of CMC and the
idiosyncrasies of each Business Unit*

** Catalyst for change, experience with change management*

** Coordinate and conduct meetings including the sending of agendas prior to
the meeting and distribution of meeting minutes and action items after the
meeting*

** Design and document Business Processes including the development of
business cases to support implementation if necessary*

** Analyze Change Requests from Business Organization including impact on
other areas of SAP*

** Follow and understand changes in other areas of SAP and how they will
affect transportation*

** Support Change Requests, including the justification of a Business Case
when necessary, and align with overall business and technology goals and
objectives*

** Develop integrated plans and take responsibility for resolving Change
Requests and other projects by the agreed upon deadlines*

** Request resources as appropriate to deliver Change Requests and other
tasks he/she is the owner of in accordance with the plans*

** Implement Change Requests (configure SAP) according to plan in
conjunction with other Business Analysts as required*

** Assemble and conduct unit test before release from Development
Environment*

** Responsible for testing (unit and integration) the solution before
release to Production, including submission of appropriate integration test
specifications*

** Communicate status of Change Requests and other development activities to
Business Organization through super users on a regular basis*

** Maintain awareness of software product developments and trends in
technology and determine if and how they can be used to enhance productivity
at CMC*

** Pursue Continuing Professional Education in the areas of business
analysis, client relationships, and technical skills through course
training, self-study, participation in professional organizations such as
ASUG, etc. *

** As mentor on the SAP team develop and refine skills of teammates in areas
of client relationship, business analysis, and technical understanding*

** Other duties as may be assigned by the Manager *

*Qualifications: *

** BS/BA, MBA desirable. *

* *

** Minimum 7 years in a Logistics business environment conducting business
analysis, requirements definition, problem solving in an aggressive
environment. Preferably some experience with metals industry*

** Minimum 5 years broad experience with SAP R/3 Logistics Execution System,
configuration in areas such as Transportation Planning, Shipment Execution
and Shipment Cost Document, etc. Related configuration experience in
delivery processing and Warehouse Management. *

** Minimum two full implementations or upgrades required. Knowledge of ABAP,
debugging skills, and ability to write code a plus. *

** Experience with change management and project management as it relates to
the functional team. Has participated in group project work sessions making
major decisions regarding workflow, business analysis, package/vendor
selection, implementation planning, and system testing. Above average
organizational skills are necessary to meet objectives, develop project
plans, report effectively, and manage the functional unit's participation in
process improvement. *

** Highly articulate in both oral and written communication for
presentation, negotiation, and persuasion. *

** Candidate should be a team player yet an aggressive self-starter and
change agent who requires little supervision and possesses leadership
characteristics with a strong commitment to his/her career. *
