WORKER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS * Minimum Requirements:* Years Skills/Experience 8 Experience managing terabyte sized Oracle version 10 & 9 databases on Solaris with Data guard, RAC and RMAN 5 Perform data modeling for multiple applications with evolutionary change management techniques. Ability to re-factor existing data models & databases for performance and scalability 5 Unix (Korn) shell, PL/SQL & SQL scripting to create multiple tools for data mining & database administration needs. 4 Should possess *applied* knowledge in the following areas: statistics, data mining, process optimization, data pattern analysis, trending, probability, capacity planning & forecasting. The candidate will need to do heavy data analysis to identify trends, usage patterns and forecast systems behavior. 2 In-depth knowledge of Oracle Wait Interface, DBA_HIST tables, V$ views and wait event analysis * Preferences:* Years Skills/Experience 3 Architect & design database for performance & scalability; Analyze overall IT architecture and provide best practice recommendations. 1 Experience with Veritas clustering, EMC Time Finder, Solaris 10 projects & resource management 2 New trends in database management, performance tuning, capacity planning and change management 5 Perform quick, surgical RCA of performance issues during slow system response and provide short-term & long-term resolution. 5 In-depth knowledge of evolutionary & traditional Oracle tuning methodologies, internal views, performance monitoring tools and shell & SQL scripting to parse, extract, load and mine performance data 5 Ability to proactively & reactively diagnose and tune performance issues on hardware hosting multi-application databases 5 Perform proactive & reactive iterative tuning in databases at various stages of SDLC 5 Familiarity with iterative software methodologies like RUP, Agile & database change management techniques 5 Experience developing tools to administer large numbers of test & development database environments 2 Experience in management of large application development environments. Experience managing projects in a matrix organization is a plus. 2 Flexible to adapt & learn new trends and evolutionary methodologies in IT & database management 3 24X7 On Call support on a rotation basis for Dev & Prod databases 1 Knowledge & working experience with ITIL, CMMI like frameworks 2 Experience with Texas Health & Human Services application systems Strong Excellent oral and written communication skills * * *III. TERM OF SERVICE* Services expect to start as soon as possible and are expected to be completed by August 31, 2010. Total estimated Worker hours shall not exceed 1600 hours per worker. This service may be amended, renewed, and/or extended providing both parties agree to do so in writing. *IV. WORK HOURS AND LOCATION* A. Services shall be provided during normal business hours unless otherwise coordinated through the HHSC. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM through 5:00 PM, excluding State holidays when the agency is closed.
