This is an urgent requirement and I need someone. Location : South Carolina. Duration : 1 month Need a Database Administrator who is strongly skilled and experienced in performing oracle database migrations and who will also guide and assist the IT support staff. The person to review our current database environment, hold discussions with IT support staff, review current documentation and present a database migration plan for the IT support staff's review and approval. The person will be solely responsible for the database upgrade. The person will also be required to develop and run a thorough test plan to validate the upgrade and resolve all problems encountered during the testing phase. Testing should include but not limited to : -Applications Compatibility test with new upgraded database -Oracle Jobs/data transfers test -Development Tools test -Backup Routines test -Stress Test After conversion the person will be responsible for performance monitoring, evaluation and tuning the database. In addition the person must perform any other tasks/functions as directed by the Applications Support supervisor. The Senior Database Administrator will be responsible for all tasks that must be performed as part of the migration process. The person will be solely responsible for the upgrade from 9i to 10g. The person will develop and conduct thorough testing at each phase of the migration process. All problems encountered during the test phase will be resolved by the DBA and reviewed by the Applications Support team's supervisor. During the post conversion period, the DBA will be responsible for tuning, evaluating and monitoring database performance. The DBA will also perform the following duties: gather workload statistics, and analysis services. The DBA must have the ability to effectively communicate with the IT support staff and internal users. The person will need to review the Clients current database environment, hold discussions with appropriate IT staff, review current documentation and present a database migration plan for the SCDOI's IT support staff review and approval.. The person must be strongly skilled in performing Oracle migration upgrades and must be able to guide, assist and when applicable train IT support staff.
