Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: - Evaluate current and emerging LAN related technologies, including wireless networking, traffic load balancing, MPLS, rate shaping, QoS, 10 Gigabit Ethernet, VLANs, cloud computing and virtualization. - Assess the technical viability, raise technical issues and define the technical risks associated with customer requirements and/or new business opportunities. - Develop detailed design specifications for LAN infrastructure within a data center, including space, power, copper and fiber cabling requirements. - Document design standards as well as update website documentation for existing designs to reflect changes in architectures. - Develop test procedures and test new versions of code for Network Operating Systems. Document tests and provide recommendations according to test results. *Requirements* - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or comparable 3+ years work experience within an internetworking or LAN environment. - *Cisco Certified Network or Design Professional (CCNP), (CCDP).* - *RCDD/Network Transport Systems (NTS) Specialist or equivalent a plus. * - Detailed knowledge of TCP/IP, CIDR and routing protocols including BGP4 and OSPF. - Detailed knowledge of switches and routers. - Intermediate AutoCAD & Visio skills. - Experience in using traffic generation equipment. - Working knowledge of Frame Relay, POSIP, T1/T3/OCx configuration and troubleshooting. - Working knowledge of IPV6. - Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills along with prior experience in a dynamic, project oriented team environment. - Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills a must.
