Location: Redmond, WA. Duration: 3+ months Job Responsibilities: Technical Skills Required: - A minimum of 8 years of database-related and data warehouse experience in a production environment - Strong database related skills in SQL Server 2005/2008, including OLAP, performance tuning, failover technologies and strategies, SSIS, and SSRS - Good understanding and troubleshooting knowledge in SQL ETL processing - METAL or other ETL tools - SQL performance tuning and data analysis - T-SQL stored procedure development, analysis, and troubleshooting - Database implementation, db internals - Excellent understanding of Microsoft Windows operating system - A minimum of 2 years of IIS experience in a production environment - 2 + years Production Support experience managing enterprise application Functional Skills Required: - Thorough understanding of service management foundations such as ITIL or MOF - Ability to analyze live-site issues quickly and possess a thorough understanding of client/server architectures and high-availability clustered environments - Outstanding customer service/focus skills - You must possess knowledge in monitoring tools and configuring them, such as MOM/SCOM. - Demonstrated ability in implementing and supporting multi-tiered, leading edge technology at an enterprise scale. - Prior practical experience with change control, source control, disaster recovery and backup strategies required - You must possess strong interpersonal skills, be a critical thinker, with excellent oral and written communication skills. - Demonstrated ability to define and follow best practices and business processes. - A BS/MS in computer science, information systems, and engineering and/or equivalent industry experience required. Deliverables: Provide Production Engineering support. Resource will review and provide supportability recommendations on business requirements documents, functional and technical specs, and test plans. UAT deployment and support will be provided. Creation of Support documentation and training of tier 1/2 staff will be completed by these resources. Production deployment and tier 3 production support.
