We currently have an immediate need for an Oracle DBA w/ RAC experience for a 3 month contract to hire. The initial 3 months of the contrac will sit in Baltimore Maryland, and then will go permanent at their St. Louis location. We are seeking an EAD/GC candidate ideally from the Midwest open to Baltimore for 3 months before transitioning back to St. Louis as a perm employee. Magellan can hire right off a phone screen. As a Sr. Oracle Database Administrator, you will take care of day-to-day DBA tasks and project work, some of which are: 1) contributing to 24x7x365 staff coverage, through On-call DBA rotation 2) execution of all Oracle database tasks within Magellan Database Service Level guarantees 3) monitoring, troubleshooting & resolution of failed tasks 5) take part in database backup and recovery tasks using RMAN (strong Oracle RMAN backup & recovery skills) 6) daily maintenance of Magellan Oracle databases, troubleshooting & resolving Oracle database issues, take action on issues reported by automated monitoring setup and having a sense of urgency to fix issues ASAP. 7) Implementation of new stored procedures and scripts, resolve complex stored procedure compilation issues, fix errors due to object grants/dependencies. Experience with PL/SQL Development and knowledge of SQL queries(preferably nested queries) 8) Installing Oracle software & Creating Databases,schema(Knowledge of Database storage – tablespaces, datafile) 9) Expert hands-on experience on Oracle RAC, ASM, OEM, TOAD 10) Working knowledge on the HP-UX /Linux Operating System – user commands, crontab, performance check 11) User Account Management – creating database users, quota, roles, privileges, password management, connectivity issues - listener/tnsnames/odbc etc. 12) Performance Tuning of Oracle Database & SQL, PL/SQL Queries. Conversant with AWR, ADDM 13) Refreshing development & test schema/tables using Export/import, Datapump 14) Expert level knowledge of creating and maintaining Tables, Partitioning, indexes, Global Temporary Tables, Triggers, stored procedures *MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:* 1. Education: BA/BS 2.
