*Job Title : Desktop Engineer Location : OH Duration : 12+ Months* Job Description: The Desktop Engineer is responsible for all aspects of end user computing equipment. This individual will maintain and improve the operating systems and application software imaging, packaging and deployment processes. The Engineer will create and modify WSH and/or Perl scripts, provide support and troubleshooting for enterprise applications, and provide third level support for Desktop Technicians. They will be assigned to a myriad of projects with the IS Division that require Desktop representation. Decision Making Responsibility: Decisions would include: analyzing and recommending new hardware and software technologies. Determining technological solutions and implementation methodologies. Architecting software and operating system deployment methodologies. Determining process improvements that lead to increased customer satisfaction and drives down costs. Scheduling of project work efforts and recommending quality improvements to processes. Required Skills: Proficiency with the following: Asset management / Software deployment. ( Microsoft SCCM) Implementing imaging technologies. Operating Systems - Windows 9x/NT/2K/XP/Vista/W/7 Active Directory - Administration, organization, Group Policy(strong) Perl / WSH scripting Office 2000/XP/2003/2007 and other desktop applications Networking - TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, Routing Anti Virus / spy ware mitigation tools Minimum 5 years in engineering and support Microsoft and Apple operating systems in a large (4000+ node) corporate environment.
