Working within the Banking and Research Risk Technology Operate (BaRRT) Reporting team, this role will also provide application support Business Objects technologies in a newly developed Data Federation platform based on *Composite Information Server*(CIS). Desired Skills: . Knowledge of or exposure to financial and market models, principles, or concepts . Linux skills and Open Source Platform skills, Apache, Tomcat . Business Objects Administration - 2+ years of experience with production support activities including Business Objects Administration, Audit reports, monitoring/tuning/troubleshooting . Java tools (Eclipse IDE) and Subversion . Automation using Linux Scripting or variation of tools. *Experience:* . Peer review of CIS Architecture and code for stable, performant, end to end Enterprise wide reporting in the new federation platform. . Supporting database components (e.g. stored procedures, views, etc.) working with the development team to optimize where possible proactively. . Developing any relevant Linux scripts (csh, ksh, Perl, etc.) and support MS Office Data Sources into composite (Excel, Access) . Administrating and enforcing the security model and the CIS across development, testing, and production environments. . Aiding QA and AD group with issues that arise during testing. . Researching issues that end-users find in reports. . Infrastructure testing and diagnosis of the complete stack upstream to CIS and downstream. . Production Support that may require weekend and afterhours support. . Mentoring and cross training the extended application support team to increase support levels and maximize support to the Build and Program Delivery Teams . Active Tuning coupled with proactive monitoring techniques to isolate eminent issues and deliver excellent customer support. In addition to application production support you will be required to influence development of new reporting applications. You will participate in the permit to operate process which includes: . Project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts and team members to analyze business requirements and outline the proposed CIS solution. . Design reviews and provide input to the design recommendations, especially in terms of running efficiencies; incorporate security requirements into the design; and comply with Project Life Cycle Methodology in all steps. . Oversight and adherence to IT Control Policies throughout design, development and testing. Alignment to Corporate Architectural Standards into application design specifications. . Review and approval detailed application specifications and ensure that proper run books and architectural documentation is in place for resiliency, capacity planning and modeling.
