Brooklyn, NY:

*Must have strong understanding of the Software/Systems Development Life
Cycle (SDLC) as well as educational domain knowledge and educational
software.*

The roles of the Product Designers are to serve as the intermediary between
the technical programmers and the non-technical team (consisting of the
directors of content, assessment, and field operations).  In this capacity,
they serve multiple functions including business analysis, systems design,
development support, and testing.

*Professional Experience:
*Minimum of 8 years experience with designing application software
(especially educational software), data analysis, data access, data
structures, data manipulation, databases, programming, testing and
implementation, technical and user documentation, software conversions;
environments include but are not limited to mainframe, mid range, personal
computers, laptop; available to assist and/or lead in the design of program
specifications and the implementation of software solutions.  Product
designers need not be specialized senior programmers; rather we seeking
candidates with very strong business analyst backgrounds. They need not know
specific programming languages (though familiarity is a must), but they need
to be able to analyze what the users needs are and translate this to the
programmers.

*Responsibilities and Required Skills:*
•       Support Project Executive in the design of features
•       Documentation to aide in the communication of feature plans
•       Design and documentation of cross-workstream reporting requirements
•       Production and ownership of functional test plans
•       Quality review and user acceptance testing
•       Familiar with HTML based development as well as the following
databases, platforms, software environments and hardware environments:

*Database:*
       Microsoft SQL server 2008
*Platforms:*
       .Net (C# preferred), Python, Microsoft Excel
*Software Environments:
*       Visual Studio .Net and Eclipse
*Hardware Environments:*
       Windows Server 2008
       Linux
