As part of HHSC EA initiatives, the worker will perform the following
activities to accomplish the following goals:
A. Development and maintenance of Web-based Java applications within
SOA (Service Oriented Platform) platform.
B. Create technical and design documentation, as required.
C. As a member of team complete requirements analysis, design,
development, test and deployment of new application components, as required.
D. Responsible for supporting and enhancing existing Java and/or Oracle
based applications.
E. Work directly with a technical project manager, project architect,
web/java developers, database developers, and system administrators.
F. Coordinate high-level application designs
G. Analyze software for configuration tuning opportunities.
H. Perform system analysis and problem resolution.
I. Develop and maintain data and process models
J. Design, write code and perform unit test to ensure application
code functions properly and without error.
K. Provide technical support for testing and implementation efforts.
L. Attend program design, coding and test walk-through meetings to
provide input regarding adherence to technical standards and customer
requirements
M. Provide necessary knowledge transfer to state worker during the
contract period
N. Other duties as assigned.
*II. **WORKER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS*

Working and developing applications on the J2EE application development
platform for enterprise class projects

Coding languages and environments including one or more in following: Java,
J2EE, EJB (Enterprise Java Beans), JSP (JavaServer Pages), JSF/Struts
(JavaServer Faces, Apache Struts Framework) or other mvc frameworks, XML
(eXtensible Markup Language), Web Services, Spring, Hibernate and Oracle.

Strong understanding and knowledge of the WebSphere/J2EE architecture, EJB,
UML (Unified Modeling Language), Patterns/Frameworks, JDBC/ODBC (Oracle
Database Connectivity), OOD (Object-Oriented Design / Development) skills,
and J2EE integration points with external or third party products.

Experience with WebSphere Servers, RAD/RSA 6+ (Rational Application
Development suite, Version 6) or similar tools.

Web Services development experience (e.g. XML, SOAP (Simple Object Access
Protocol), WSDL (Web Services Description Language), and UDDI (Universal
Description, Discovery, and Integration).
Degree
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major
course work in computer science, computer information systems, engineering,
or management information systems is required. (The candidate has to provide
the year of graduation in the resume.)
