The ideal candidate must be a more senior/experienced person, with strategic data planning experience. This must be a person that has lead experience and been hands-on, directly involved in all aspects of data model development, application and data workflow planning, and system development/deployment. The source database environments are SQL Server and Oracle. After some additional conversation internally about this position I’d like to provide some further guidance on the types of candidates that should be considered for this opportunity. The title ‘Data Modeler’ undershoots what we need for this position. I understand that this will drive the rate higher, perhaps off the rate card, but in order to get the right resource, we must make that distinction. To help you determine the right type of individual needed for this engagement, I’ll outline the challenge that we’re facing and what we view as a deliverable from this engagement. At the core, we have two high volume data systems, using different database technologies, that are remote to one another but are closely related in terms of data flow and utilization. We are embarking on the process of evaluating these two systems, the flow and structure of data into and between them, the information outlets they support (and must be expanded to support), and the applications that work with them.
