Title: Senior System Engineer Location: New York City, NY Duration: 6 Months This position will require one phone interview and one face to face. The manager prefers local candidates, but will look at non-local candidates as well. Below are the job requirements. Comments: Responsible for engineering and administration functions required to implement and support GLOBAL MIS systems and services, including Windows NT 4.0, Windows-2000, Windows-2003 and Windows-2008 servers. Duties and responsibilities: Work on projects, implementing servers and services locally and remotely. Experience with working on tight timelines with multiple deliverables. Building, installing, configuring and maintaining Windows-2000 , Windows-2003 and Windows-2008 servers in a multi Domain environment spread across datacenters located in the US , UK and Geneva. Monitoring, troubleshooting and problem resolution of MIS servers and services. Engineer would be responsible for leading troubleshooting and incident calls. Hardware and software upgrades and updates including but not limited to OS and application patching. Providing support and assisting other groups in problem resolution Documentation of environment and operational procedures. 24 X 7 system support, including on-site and remote management Pager rotation and on call responsibilities. Qualifications Required: At least 5+ years of hands-on engineering and support experience with Windows NT4, Windows-2000 , Windows-2003 and Windows-2008 servers in a medium to large scale production environment. Knowledge of implementing and supporting Windows clustering Knowledge of implementing and supporting production Active Directory environments. Working knowledge of VMWare Overall knowledge and understanding of Citrix Metaframe farm environments Overall knowledge and understanding of IBM Blade Center Working knowledge of RAID setups and troubleshooting with an understanding of SAN and NAS technology. Hands-on experience troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining server hardware. Hands-on experience setting up, installing and configuring Windows based servers Working knowledge of TCP/IP principles and LAN technology; experience with troubleshooting Windows and DNS networking issues Knowledge of network monitoring tools and SNMP Strong critical thinking and analytical skills Excellent customer service and communication skill set Must be able to work independently, under minimum supervision Must be able to plan, organize, and prioritize work schedule.
