Title : Technical Writer Location : Durham, North Carolina Duration : 6 Months Job Description: As a member of the IBD IT Spider team, the candidate will have the following responsibilities: Develop functional and technical documentation templates and an effective structure for managing the documentations. Develop in-depth understanding of key IBD IT applications through available documentations and information gathering sessions with users, project managers, business analyst, and developers. Review existing documentations and validate application functionality and technical detail by running application use cases directly and/or looking through source code when necessary. Update or rewrite existing documentation with additional details using the new template where needed. Produce new functional and technical documentations on applications and modules that lack documentation. Organize existing and new documentations for easy management and usage. Help with application testing Required Experiences and Skills 10+ years of total working experience in Information Technology in the financial industries. 5+ years of hands on application development experience using technologies including C#, .NET, ASP, Javascript, XSLT, SQL, and Crystal Reports. 3+ years of working experience as a technical writer or business analyst working on formal requirement gathering, technical analysis, and high quality functional and technical documentation. Experience in creating effective document maintenance structure and process for software application development . Must have hands on experience with development tools such as Visual Studio, RapidSQL, Crystal Report Designer. Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite, which includes Word, Excel, Project, Visio. Strong oral and written communication skills. Preferred Experience and Knowledge Knowledge of IBD CRM, ERP, and MIS Reporting applications.
