Title : Senior WebSphere Admin Certified Location : Detroit MI Locals Needed Duration : Long term Position Description: . support 300+ WebSphere 6.0/6.1 installations on Linux and Windows servers 24x7 . supporting the WebSphere, Operating System, Web server (Apache) . applying patches, installing software, managing file systems, monitoring performance . troubleshooting alerts from monitoring system for system error conditions (Servlet Error, Web Server timeout, system down, disk full, CPU busy, memory full, etc.) . servicing tickets submitted by developers Skills Required: . in-depth troubleshooting of WebSphere 6.1, 6.0. . Knowledgeable in Linux Operating Systems. . automating tasks using a scripting language (ksh, perl etc) . analyzing performance issues (Using Tivoli Performance Viewer or Resource Analyzer) . customer interface experience (managing expectations; negotiating compromise solutions) Skills Preferred: . Knowledgeable in Java . Data Center experience (change control; ticketing systems; coordinating with other support groups) . Knowledgeable in xml messaging (MQ Series, JMS) Experience Required: . Supporting WebSphere Application Server in a production environment. . supporting a network of at least 100 systems 24x7 . experience managing the escalation of cross-functional problems with multiple vendors . leadership experience (of a team or of an implementation) Experience Preferred: . experience managing projects . experience Performace tuning Linux/Unix OS environments Education Required: . UNIX/Linux Certifications . Websphere Certification .
