Middleware Data / Message Modeler
The US Card Real Time Messaging team (RTM) is in need of a Data / Message
Modeler to support the design and development of Real-Time Messaging
WebServices. RTM is Capital One's Middleware infrastructure, servicing
numerous client applications by retrieving data from a variety of back-end
systems of record. The RTM Message Modeler .
- Refines data requirements and business rules
- Creates message model entities, definitions and metadata
- Maintains the Enterprise RTM Canonical Data Model
- Reviews the model for accuracy
- Adheres to standards and architectural conformity
- Generates XML Schema Definitions
The RTM Message Modeler interacts with project Systems Analysts, Technical
Leads Architects and Project Managers.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors/Masters degree or Certification in Computer Science, MIS,
Engineering, Math or Science
Preferred qualifications
- Minimum 3 years (5 preferred) experience in Relational Data Modeling
- Minimum 3 years (5 preferred) experience leading fact-finding working
sessions with project customers (IT and Business)
- Familiar with financial industry terminology and concepts
- Proficient with Erwin
- Working knowledge of XML terminology required
- Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture
- Comfortable with Governance Process execution
- Able to define, structure, and plan work
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Able to work on multiple concurrent projects
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, able to communicate with
technical resources, business resources and upper management
- Good presentation skills
Other
- Basic knowledge of Altova XMLSpy, Schema Agent is strongly preferred
- Basic knowledge of Rational ClearCase is a plus
