Debian 7, currently in freeze, no longer has telepathy-python-based connection managers (they don't work with current Empathy any more). Unfortunately, the client side of telepathy-python is still used by various Sugar components :-( > One thing > among others - Connection should return has_immortal_handles=True. Connection managers can do this (and every other tp-py feature) themselves, if necessary. It's a pretty small thing to do when compared with all the other work you have to do to make a fully-working CM using telepathy-python. If you insist on using telepathy-python and want to add modern Telepathy features to it, I would ask you to demonstrate those features working correctly when prototyped in a connection manager anyway, before considering a merge into telepathy-python.
