I've now installed bleadperl (16849) and it still segfaults, albeit the maximum string length with which it is ok is now 1160 characters. Not much success, then. But it seems to be a OS X problem, as even strings of length 2000 are ok with perl 5.6.1 on Linux. So it's really p5p or macosx-perl that need to be informed. Marcel -- We are Perl.
