[Templates] Quick Question - about the 'IF' syntax

I'm unsuccessfully trying to do this

[% FOREACH a = as %]
....
[% IF a.b == c.d %]
...
Looks like you can not have two variables in the IF syntax? 

Anyone know a way around this.
