Wayne,
Case sensitivity in SQL comparisons is a function of the database server. As far as I know, FileMaker does not have an option for case insensitive matching when doing comparisons via ODBC/JDBC. About the best thing I can offer from TeraScript’s perspective (and this would be a helpful option for any case sensitive database) is to simplify the ability to lower case a column by making it a simple checkbox option in the where clause. To extend that thought, a small menu to apply simple functions to columns (upper(), lower(), trim(), etc) might be convenient. These days we are using Terascript and Filemaker via JDBC. It's case sensitive. The way we've been handling it is by using a calculation field in the table to calculate the lowercase of the entered string, then when a string from Terascript is compared against it we use the <@LOWER> tag. Works, but is a lot of work to set up. I'm thinking there might be a built in method to switch or handle case sensitivity. Or is everybody doing it like this?
