Well I followed the grub2 install directions from above:

[root@garage andy]# grub2-install --boot-directory=/boot /dev/sda
/usr/sbin/grub2-setup: warn: This GPT partition label has no BIOS Boot
Partition; embedding won't be possible!.
/usr/sbin/grub2-setup: warn: Embedding is not possible. GRUB can only be
installed in this setup by using blocklists. However, blocklists are
UNRELIABLE and their use is discouraged..
/usr/sbin/grub2-setup: error: will not proceed with blocklists.
[root@garage andy]#

No love here either! Still only the original kernel from the RC5 DVD boots.
