I found this behavior on my Fedora 35 


grep -i pcspkr /boot/config-5.19.8-100.fc35.x86_64
CONFIG_HAVE_PCSPKR_PLATFORM=y
CONFIG_PCSPKR_PLATFORM=y
CONFIG_INPUT_PCSPKR=m
