Your internet might not be open.
Check with your internet service provider or network administrator to
see if port 873 (rsync) is allowed through.
To check on an XO, the following command might be used:
rsync rsync://updates.laptop.org/ && echo ok
If there is no "ok" displayed after the command has completed, then it
is likely that there is not enough internet service in your location.
Further diagnosis might be possible based on errors emitted by rsync.
