If you have previously installed a developer key and used it to disable security on an XO, you won't need to do this again. (You can test for this by interrupting the boot with the (X) escape key, and typing "disable-security" ... if you see "No wp tag" as the response, then security is already disabled). If you have not disabled security on the XO, and had placed the developer key on the internal NAND Flash storage, then installing a new build (such as these) will result in the antitheft security mode returning ... and then whether the build is signed begins to matter. Therefore for XOs that you control in small libraries, it is probably more usable to disable security. > Is the install like a regular update/reflash or do we need to have > special instructions? If so, please send! The instructions should be included in the release of the builds. If they are not, please say so. > Also, if so, can we put more than one on a single 4GB usb stick? Sure. On my usual 4GB USB stick I have the following builds; - the latest XO-1 OLPC build, - the latest XO-1 DebXO build, - the latest XO-1 Martin build, - the latest XO-1.5 OLPC build, - several test files. You effectively choose which you will use at the time you insert the USB stick and begin typing. -- James Cameron http://quozl.linux.org.au/ _______________________________________________ Testing mailing list [email protected] http://lists.laptop.org/listinfo/testing
