I know, I rewrote http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Software_update trying to better explain the process! :-) That doesn't change the fact that the message is extremely confusing, because there is a web page with the base URL in the message, but Software update usually does NOT it. One odd thing I notice is during Software update my /tmp contains two temp HTML files, titled Activities/G1G1 - OLPC and Activities/G1G1Lite/10.1.3 - OLPC. And the first of those points to Help-10.xo as the latest. According to our understanding, Software update should only be pulling down one of those. Hmm, maybe one of the other activities I have installed mentions the wrong update URL, or points to a garbled copy of the entire G1G1 Activites, or something, and then (randomly?) Software update uses the old or the new list. The interaction of an activity's own update_url and the activity group isn't explained, despite my efforts ;-) Cheers, thanks for your response. -- =S Page _______________________________________________ Testing mailing list [email protected] http://lists.laptop.org/listinfo/testing
