If some directory is "world writable", it is recommended to set the sticky bit. Else, everybody is allowed e.g. to remove files or rename directories. What *exactly* is the problem of the sticky bit in your case? > What is the other solution adding set user ID on execution: Whose The fonts gets installed by a script. Setting any suid bits on scripts is not recommended for securiry reasons. Thomas
