The information in ANNOUNCE-2.0 lists LaTeX2e <2001/06/01> and this is the version that teTeX-2.0 includes (not 1996/12/01). There has been one LaTeX release since then: 2003/12/01. teTeX-3.0 is on the way. If you are interested, join the tetex-pretest list and download a beta release (see http://tug.org/teTeX/). Thomas
