I know I should probably just read the documentation, but .... I just can't seems to get to the place where I find the solution to this problem. So I will as what is probably a FAQ and hope for mercy:

I am running Linux (Mandrake 10) and at system install I installed teTeX as part of it all. Now I have a program called 'tab' that creates DVI files, but I can't get them to print. The thing is - years back, maybe 10 or so, I used to have this working and at that time it seemed to be fairly easy to get it all to work.

These are the symptoms so far:

1. I can see the DVI file in xdvi, but the fonts are wrong.
2. dvips says 'mktexpk: don't know how to create bitmap font ...'

-s obviously I need to fix the fonts. The tab program comes with a handful of *.300pk files and some *.tfm files; when I used this before I remember all the different font sizes would just be magically geenrated.

Can someone please help a stupid old man?

/jan
