initex '&tex musixtex.ins \dump'
The ini* and vir* names have been removed from web2c (for good reasons, e.g. to reduce inconsistencies in TEXINPUTS.progname and array sizes, e.g. main_memory.progname settings in texmf.cnf).
For getting the "initex" functionality, just use the engine of your choice, e.g. pdfetex and pass -ini, so e.g. pdfetex -ini '&pdfetex musixtex.ins \dump' or tex -ini '&tex musixtex.ins \dump'
Hmmm, ok. Now i have the problem that virtex is also missing, and things like musixtex break:
miyu% ls -l /usr/pkg/bin/musixtex lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 6 Feb 11 00:08 /usr/pkg/bin/musixtex -> virtex
How does one work around that one?
