In case nothing else helps:
 hack either caption.sty or try

\renewcommand{\table}{%
        [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        \renewcommand{\theisafloat}{TABLE~\thetable -- }%
        \renewcommand{\baselinestretch}{1}%
        [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        [EMAIL PROTECTED]
\renewcommand{\table*}{%
        [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        \renewcommand{\theisafloat}{TABLE~\thetable -- }%
        \renewcommand{\baselinestretch}{1}%
        [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        [EMAIL PROTECTED]

You NEVER have to use word !

 Regards
                                                        Dieter

instead.

HTH. HAND.

PS: OTOH, if you would search the FAQ, it might tell you about a
