Architecture SPARC
OS Solaris 2.9
gcc version 3.4.2

Im trying to build tetex 3.0 but have problems with config. Probably
related to

http://www.mail-archive.com/tetex-pretest@dbs.uni-hannover.de/msg00547.html

I follow the instructions as per:

http://www.tug.org/teTeX/tetex-src/INSTALL

but I hit a problems after running the configure script.

Line 5 of config.log is:

checking whether the C compiler (gcc ) works... yes
checking whether the C compiler (gcc ) is a cross-compiler... no

Line 9 of config.log is:

checking whether the C++ compiler (gcc ) works... yes
checking whether the C++ compiler (gcc ) is a cross-compiler... yes

My path is set to

/usr/ucb:/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/etc:/opt/sfw/bin:/opt/Acrobat5/bin:/usr/lo
cal/teTeX/bin/sparc-sun-solaris2.9.

Both /usr/ccs/lib and /usr/local/lib are non empty

I have been able to compile both c and c++ code.

My guess is that config is guessing that this is a cross compilation, is
there anyway of forcing a non cross compilation build?

If this should be posted to pretest let me know.
