Greetings,

I built tetex-3.0 on a GNU/Debian Linux machine, AMD Opteron
architecture. I'm getting 132 executable files in
/usr/local/teTeX/bin/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/, instead of 137. One of
the missing executables is 'latex'. Tex and pdftex, which I normally
use, work properly with this installation.

I saw a recent newsgroup posting on the subject, but there weren't any
replies, so I'm curious if anyone else has had this problem, and what
the solution is.

I configured it using:

    ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/teTeX/ --with-system-ncurses \
    --with-system-pnglib --with-system-t1lib --with-system-zlib \
    --disable-a4 > configure.log &

I also tried adding --with-latex, even though I didn't see it in the
./configure --help. Didn't seem to make a difference. In both cases,
the only configure errors on the console were related to not finding a
proper t1lib library.

I tried gcc-3.3.2 and the experimental gcc-4.0 with identical results.
The configure.log, world.log and world.err files (for the gcc-4.0 build)
are all at:

Thanks!

Chris
