Hello helpers on the list,

I want to code a file in Musixtex which is to be transposed. For the right stemming

in the transposed output I used note macros with automatic stem choice (\qa, \ha etc.)
which make

notes below the third line being stemmed up, the other down according to the manual.

This works fine for quarters, but not at all for half notes; they're always stemmed up.

The short score

\input musixtex

\generalmeter{\meterfrac22}

\startmuflex

\startpiece

\NOTes\ha{c}\ha{'d}\en\bar

\NOTes\ha{'g}\en\bar

\endpiece

\end

for example gives me as a result something like this:

                                     |

                                     |

                      |              |

                      |             O

----------------------|------|-------------------|---------

----2----------------O-------|-------------------|---------

-----------|-----------------|-------------------|---------

-G--2------|-----------------|-------------------|---------

-----------|-----------------|-------------------|---------

         -O-

I use MusixTex T.86 (according to the musixtex manual) on a SuSe Linux 6.4 machine;

the rpm package identifies itself as Version 5.15, Release 143. (I don't know which of
these

version numbers are relevant; so I post them all.)

Does anybody know whether there's something wrong with my musixtex version? Do I have
to update it?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
