I am trying to shorten the vertical distance between verses with:
\setbox\lyrstrutbox=\hbox{\vrule height 8pt width 0pt}
but the baseline of the lyrics shifts up and down

    the        turn          this.
and     lyrics      out like

Is this the correct way to do this?

Below is a short PMX example which I've tried with pmx 2.407, musixlyr
2.0c and 2.1c, and musixtex T109 and T112.

Thanks,
Kurt Kehler
