Hi Don,

Yes I was going to replace with triplets. In 12/8 time signature was a way
that many composers use to avoid scaring away a performer by having a
movement filled with triplets all over the place. i.e. a dotted crotchet
equals the value of a normal crotchet in common time. So there are 4 dotted
crotchet groups in 12/8 time and 4 crotchets in the common time. All
performers are counting in four it's just the subdivisions are counted
differently.

I've already replied to Olivier's helpful advice but while it does work.. it
only works on the first bar of a piece. The change of time signatures occurs
halfway through the piece.

More importantly I am trying to have a quaver triplet made as one dotted
crotchet.

Trent

But just remember that if you do it this way, PMX will not know about the
12/8, so to make the triplets you'll have to do something like c4x3n d e ...
