Thanks, Jean-Pierre, I think you're right. The problem came because (a) it's a dotted rest, (b) it's one of the dotted rests that there's no MusiXTeX command for, (c) I made a simple-minded definition in pmx.tex, (d) PMX ends up putting the rest and the dot both inside the \hbox so it can lower them both together. For rests that aren't dotted, or for the longer dotted rests which are defined in MusiXTeX, PMX doesn't explicitly use the \hbox to raise or lower them. To fix this I'll have to change PMX.
I'm surprised this problem hasn't come up before. --Don Simons >-----Original Message----- >From: tex-music-boun...@tug.org [mailto:tex-music-boun...@tug.org] On Behalf Of >Jean-Pierre Coulon >Sent: Tuesday, July 12, 2011 11:36 PM >To: Werner Icking Music Archive >Subject: Re: [Tex-music] A note with flags *and* beam > >It seems you're doing an \hbox of an \hbox, because the manual says that rests are >already boxes. > >Try to lower \ds without enclosing it into an \hbox (at least a MusiXTeX solution). > >-- >Jean-Pierre Coulon cou...@obs-nice.fr ------------------------------- TeX-music@tug.org mailing list If you want to unsubscribe or look at the archives, go to http://tug.org/mailman/listinfo/tex-music
