As for omitting the meter, it’s probably possible with some inline TeX. It sounds like you want repeat signs using just a single bar. If that’s it, of course that’s also probably possible with inline TeX, but from glancing at the coding for barlines in musixtex.tex, I’m guessing it would be very complicated.
