I've released a new version of the musixtex package. This version improves on the tablature support: tablature notes are now in (Helvetica) bold, tablature notes below the staff now use slashes (/) rather than ledger lines, as is conventional in French tablature, and new commands are provided to generate notehead-less stems above a tablature staff to specify note duration.
