Smallcaps problem can be solved with a \Css declaration in your document or better a tiny *.cfg: \Css{.small-caps{font-variant: small-caps; text-transform: lowercase;}} Second problem can be solved by adding \let\addspace\xspace. It works OK. See the contents of the archive and my.cfg (included in archive), simon.zip.
