+January 2017: LaTeX core started to use new font encoding with
+Unicode engines, TU. This encoding loads OpenType fonts by defaultIt's (supposedly) ok if TU loads OT fonts when running under xelatex and lualatex, but it's surely not ok when running under pdflatex or latex, since pdftex cannot read OT fonts. Is that really what's happening? If yes, can you please report this to latex? --thanks, karl.
