The main issue is that the index can contain numbers that are not page numbers, for example, as part of an index term. This can sometimes be difficult to distinguish because different index processors use different formats. This turned out to be a problem in this thread. However, there could certainly be other issues that we haven't encountered yet. On 188 pages, they might very well appear, but it probably won't be easy to detect them.
