We ran the numbers yesterday afternoon and had a total of about 460 visitors to
Dies Ranch Treasure Cave alone.

The highest wait time was about two hours, but a good time was had by all and
we received many compliments despite the wait.

Subject: [Texascavers] Texas Cave Conservancy CAVE DAY

Yesterday, Saturday September 14, we had approximately
600 visitors to Dies Ranch Indian Shelter, Discovery Well Cave Preserve, Dies
Ranch Treasure Cave
and the Avery Ranch Cave .
We had cavers showing the visitors the various caver techniques such as rope
climbing at the Dies Ranch Treasure Cave .  A good muddy time
was had by all.

Over at Avery Ranch Cave
we were able to speed up the lines where the longest wait was around
twenty-thirty minutes.  We would like to thank the Williamson County Constable
Rob Chody for providing security for the event. The kids loved the big police
car and the coloring book handouts.  We will have security at both sites next
year.

A former employee of the TCC charged that the deck is
unsafe in the Avery Ranch Cave .  We repaired the minor problem and the deck is
safe.

If there is a caver with structural support
experience out there that would be willing to inspect the deck, please contact
us.  We could use some paperwork from an expert to reassure the former TCC
employee and anyone else, that the deck is safe.

We are greatly enjoying our new TCC office and we even
had pizza and beer for the cavers that worked with us CAVE DAY.  Join us in one
of the ongoing work projects and see our great new TCC Headquarters.
