Pete, along the lines of engineering LEDs to super-bright, super-powerful 
(which means hopefully we could have some fantastic headlamps maybe not too far 
in the future), I read a couple years back about the development of 
bacteria-powered batteries that would be really light and flat like 
refrigerator magnets, and last for a long, long time.  Have you read anything 
about that and if industry is moving forward on it?
