The 2012 Texas Cave Conservancy Winter Conference will be held on the usual
date, the last weekend in February from the 24-26. The weekend will include
camping, caving, workshops, a Saturday night party and a special
presentation Saturday night following the dinner. We will have several
speakers and slides on the old Southwest Texas University Grotto (SWTG).
Toward that end, we are posting a list of some of the SWTG cavers in another
e-mail. The list is too large to be sent on this mailing. If you know any
of them, please forward this notice. In addition to the TCC Winter
Conference being a great place for new cavers, this year will be a good
reunion of the old SWTG.

As usual, the center point for the weekend will be the Texas Cave
Conservancy Headquarters located at:

1800 West Park

Cedar Park, Texas

For additional information, contact the TCC at tcc-ca...@austin.rr.com or
512-249-2283. We will post additional information after the first of the
year.

Thanks, Mike Walsh President-Texas Cave Conservancy

My production company is doing an educational film on karst. We are doing some
filming in central Texas caves and we need some (paid) help holding lights,
hauling gear and helping set up shots. Shooting is sporadic over the next 90
days and will probably involve about 10 shoot days. Pay is $100 per day plus
mileage (yes, it's low pay, making films is not like being a stock broker). We
have heavy gear, so we need fit and energetic assistance, yet the ability to be
extremely gentle and soft in cave environments. This is not an easy balance. I
need a total of 4 PAs. If you are interested, tell me a little about your
caving experience and any prior filming experience. You can see what we do at
http://passmorelab.com/films/ As an aside, we are looking at opening a studio
in Austin, so if you (or a friend) have other talents (post, sound, etc) let me
know. I believe we will be hiring this Spring.

Your old Hockley, TX address bounced back to me.

Thanks,
