This is the 11th NSS Webinar with NCRC instructor and National Coordinator
Anmar Mirza, titled "An Introduction to the National Cave Rescue Commission.

After its inception in 1979, the NSSs National Cave Rescue Commission 9NCRC)
quickly developed into the foremost authority for cave rescue techniques and
training. In this webinar, you will learn about the NCRC, and it's value to you
as a caver.

* Find out way the number of major cave rescues has decreased.

* Learn how cavers conduct "self rescues" and take care of problems
themselves, so full blown rescues aren't required.

* Discover how NCRC trained cavers can reduce the impact on caves when
a cave rescue is necessary.

Every person involved with the NCRC is a volunteer, and NCRC courses attract a
wide spectrum of students, including cavers and members of first responder
units in cave-rich regions.

The NCRC conducts several courses, including an annual workshop that offers
eight days of the best training knowledge, and experience available for cave
rescue techniques and equipment.

The NCRC was chartered by the NSS as a training and resource coordination body
and as such has become the premier cave rescue training organization in the
world.

Anmar Mirza is the national coordinator for the NCRC. He spent ten years as the
Central Region NCRC coordinator and has been an NCRC instructor since 1995. He
is the editor and contributing author of the second edition of the Manual of US
Cave Rescue Techniques.
