The same. Bill has volunteered for many years with the vertical contests. He also was a very active caver in the east and was involved in the VPI caving club and the mapping of Roppel Cave in Kentucky. There were a number of folks in the east that were very glad to see him move to Texas as he won the speleolympics at the Old Timers Reunion for many years. He used the gear he won to support his caving habit.

I think that guy also won lots of cable-ladder contest, and taught lots of kids and newbie cavers how to properly climb a cable-ladder.
