Update - Mal & a friend were hit by a car crossing the street to go to dinner. Her friend broke his leg and went in for surgery, but he was conscious b4 surgery and said what he knew. They have already done one treatment to help reduce swelling around her brain. They are keeping her sedated and have given the "first 72 hrs are key" statement. I do not have any details about the driver of the car. Roger G. I've had first hand experience of being in one of those, and I know they are done to manage treatment of one kind or another, so we shouldn't be unduly concerned that she is not conscious - but we should continue to keep thinking positively.
