Howdy Cavers,

Thanks as always for your support of the TCMA. Our cave preserves are
doing well thanks to your support and a lot of hard-working
volunteers.

Two preserve work days are scheduled this month!

Rolling Oaks Cave Preserve: Saturday, November 10, 10am - 2pm
224 Laurel Ridge Lane, San Antonio, TX 78253
Digging out a Niche Cave at the Rolling Oaks Cave Preserve in Bexar
County (northwestern San Antonio). We plan to continue to dig out a
sinkhole and associated cave that is full of old ranch trash with
additional sediment washing in. We need people, buckets, shovels, and
other cave-digging tools. Bring your own gloves, drinks, and snacks
for the work. TCMA will provide bottled water. All visitors to the
Preserve will be asked to sign a liability waiver. Look for signs and
park along the street. Meet at 10:00 am. We should be finished with
the work by 2pm or so. Ellie will be on-site if anyone wishes to
enter the other caves on the preserve (Chimney Cricket Cave, Obvious
Little Cave, and World Newt Cave) after the dig. Bring your own cave
gear. Please contact Ellie Thoene (ellie.tho...@gmail.com) with
additional questions. There is no need to RSVP if you are attending.
Just show up! If it is raining the clean-up will be canceled and
rescheduled for a later date.

Whirlpool Cave Preserve: Saturday, November 24, 10am - 2pm
In south Austin at the intersection of Brush Country Rd and Convict Hill Rd.
We will be doing a general clean up. Pick up trash and trim bushes.
Bring your own gloves, drinks, and snacks for the work. Afterwards
anyone who's up for it can go into Whirlpool Cave. Bring your own cave
gear. For more info contact Matt Turner (kat...@yahoo.com).

Also, it's that time of year and TCMA Board of Director elections for
2013 are happening this month. Look for an email with additional
information on or around November 11th. This year TCMA members are
voting for 5 directors. Please make sure that your email address on
file with the TCMA is up to date. Paper ballots can also be requested
from the database committee (ronra...@tcmacaves.org).

General info and our calendar are always available on our website at
www.tcmacaves.org. Cave on!
