Heck, you beat me to it. I'd just copied the link.
Have you guys been hiding "secret passages" from us again. The headline writer
needs to learn to read the article before writing the headline. But then, s/he
probably doesn't know the difference between Lechuguilla and CCNP.
Here's the online version:

Don, Jenni and the entire family are comforted by the loving embrace of their
caver family. They appreciate everyone allowing them this time to privately
grieve.
Nick will be cremated in the coming week. There will not be a service or
internment.
The family has decided to hold a Celebration of Nick's life in several weeks.
Most likely in early July. We will make an announcement with details as we get
closer.
We are compiling memories, sympathies, pictures etc for the family. Feel free
to send them directly to me.

Ah, Bill, this is indeed an accurate statement. The antibiotic compounds that
we humans use that are produced by soil bacteria (e.g., streptomycin, from the
Streptomyces bacterial species) are chemicals that are secreted by the bacteria
when they are surrounded by different, competing bacterial species. In effect,
the antibiotic-secreting bacteria are deploying chemical warfare against other
bacterial species--a sort of bacterial resistance campaign.

Howdy, y'all!
Whining about no material does pay off! But don't stop now. I need
articles for the next issue, as well!
The TSA Homepage Czar, Butch Fralia, has posted the second quarter 2012
edition of The TEXAS CAVER to the Members Area.
In this issue, you'll find a great cover photo of Michael Harris, which
took 2nd place at the TSA Spring Convention.
The articles start off with an update from Mike Walsh on the goings on
at the Texas Cave Conservancy.
There are a plethora of trip reports from around the state, with a Deep
Cave report from newbie author Allie Loftin, a Boyett's Cave "rescue"
from Ben Hutchins, a West Texas caving report with some excellent photos
from
Travis Scott, a beautiful poem by our own poet laureate Mimi Jasek, an
O-9 Well trip report from Aubrey Jenson, an A.S.S. trip to Honey Creek
by Samantha Carley, another newbie to the TEXAS CAVER, a report about
Joe Mitchell's 40th birthday from
Michael Harris, and a fascinating list of lists of "10 Reasons I love
Caving", initiated by Sheryl Rieck.
There also is a highly enjoyable TSA Spring Convention report from
Bennett Lee, as well as a fantastic group photo he shot. The inside
cover features a photo collage from the Convention from Michael Harris,
Leslie Bell, and Bill Bentley.
Finally, there is a long-winded wrap up report from the Longhorn Caverns
State Park Project from yours truly and a bunch of excellent photos from
Venture Crew 416 of Plano, Texas and from Leslie Bell!
This is a very special issue and one, we at the TSA, hope you will
enjoy, but:

I always NEED material for the next issue and can ALWAYS use whatever

from TC virgins.
Worried that you're not a very good writer or have never submitted one?
Not to worry! I barely write at a 3rd grade level and y'all have no
problem reading/enduring my posts!
You have a couple of months now till the next issue. So grab some iced
tea and enjoy that air conditioning while you put your thoughts down,
so, submit that report that we all enjoy hearing about.
If you happen to be an Armchair Caver, no problem.
I always enjoy receiving submissions for "The Carbide Caver" section of
the newsletter and we would all love to hear a humorous or exciting or
memorable or, potentially, libelous recollection from one of your past
trips, documented for all to read from the depths of your memory!
A HUGE thanks to all who have helped me out in this issue and past
issues. Now, get your other fellow cavers involved!
Thanks for your support of the TC, the TSA, and making Texas the great
Center of the Caving Universe.
Enjoy and have a safe and fun summer!

As many of you know I recently had a grudge match with a neighborhood dog
and my motorcycle which is now in the shop getting fixed. I was going to
ride my motorcycle out to convention this year due to its great 60 mpg but
as it stands I have all the time necessary off of work but now way to get
to convention. If anyone is driving to convention and has an open seat

George and I are looking for a 4 Runner, 4 wheel drive, standard
transmission, 4 cyl, year models 1996 to 2002. If you have one, know of
one, hear of one, or have advice on where to look for one that is for sale,
we would appreciate hearing from you. We are willing to go quite a
distance to bring one home. Quite a distance is defined as anywhere with
the USA 48.
Thanks,
Sheryl & George
