Bill,

Nice job and very generous offer.

I wanted to add a couple of things, Ron Ralph gave a very nice speech on
joining the NSS and supporting organized caving at the Bexar Grotto last nigh.
While I know that times are tough, we do need to increase NSS membership and
NSS exposure to the public as the NSS took a huge hit on budget last year and
is expected to do the same this year.

Folks, please encourage your members to join and support the NSS.

I will match Bill's offer to purchase a copy of the 50 Years of Texas Caving
and donate it to the San Antonio Library. It is a fine book and also needs to
get some good public exposure.

THANKS,

Geary

Subject: [Texascavers] Grottos buying caving books for libraries

I guess I threw some cold water on the campaign Ellie and Ron have launched,
which is appealing to
Texas grottos to buy some books about caves and caving for public libraries.
Here's what I'll do to make
up for eoing that. At the next DFW Grotto meeting I will make a motion that our
grotto approve spending $100 for two copies of Carl Kunath's 50 YEARS OF TEXAS
CAVING, one for the main Dallas library, and one for the main Fort Worth
library. If approved, I will make the purchases for the grotto and be
responsible
to deliver the books to those libraries. At the same time, I will personally
buy a copy of Carl's book
and give it to my own public library here in Irving.

Bill
