The dust was minor compared to the camaraderie, visiting with friends, meeting
new ones and the overall good time had by all.
Thanks Allan, Linda, Lyndon, Pete, Stefan and the many others who made it
happen. Location is the least important part of this great event and I will
never have a complaint except we should have it semi-annually.

Dusty?
What dust?
Never noticed a thing.
Too busy laughing with old friends and making new ones.
Had a great time!
Many thanks to Allan and all the other, mostly unsung, heroes who make this
event possible!

Howdy y'all,
TCR is a great event because it is attended by really great people. Thanks
to all those who came out.
Yes, it was a little dusty. That happens when it doesn't rain for a while.
I did see lots and lots of people having fun and that is the whole point of
TCR.
I really want to thank the cooks for the great meal, the people who manned
registration, Pete for the hot tub and sauna, the Terminal Syphons for a
rockin' show, the vendors and organizations, and all the people who worked
behind the scenes doing all the things that make TCR happen. Thank you to
everyone helped.
This year we tried to find the dustiest spot we could, you'll have to come
to TCR next year to see the next big surprise.
See y'all next year,
Allan

Hi All,
I hope you enjoyed the food at this year's TCR**.
I would personally and publically like to thank my excellent team of cooks who
had to put up with me on the day and for a few weeks beforehand :-)
Your cooks were:
Thai Mains - Laura Coe, James Brown
Salads - Kristina Hager, Alia Stokic, Leslie Bell, Wes Schumacher
Veg - Aimee Beveridge
Starters - Don Cooper
BBQ - Vico Jones, Terry Holsinger and myself.
Dessert - Jocie Hooper, Grace Borengasser, Matt Zappitello
Please thank them next time you see them!
I would also like to thank the people who came by during the day and helped us
out by chopping up stuff, and as dinner time got closer and closer were
co-opted into doing some cooking! There were too many to name here, but they
were *all* appreciated
Thanks too to ASS who en-mass turned up to help serve (and chop stuff too!).
(Will the members of the latter two groups send me an email, please...)
Cheers,
Stefan
(** If not, please email me privately with suggestions)

It is difficult for me to believe that a Texas caver would purposefully cheat
the supporting members of our organizations out of $ 35. to be a part of the
best caving event of the year. I don't understand why every caver is not a
member of TSA and TCMA as the cost is nominal. Some have expressed their
reasons, all of which are lame. Cost is not an issue. If you can purchase
related equipment and gasoline to attend, you can afford the membership fees.
If you arrived after hours and "forgot" to register later, you can still send a
check to Linda Palit. If you did this on purpose, you do not belong in our
group. Go cheat someone else. I will save this post for next year and Gill and
I will remind everyone to watch for those without a wrist band and ask them why
they don't have one.
It was a great event and thanks again to all who worked to make it possible.

If one had walked around the campground as supper was being served
probably another 50 or 60 or so without wrist bands would have been
found eating supper at their own camp. They hadn't registered. TCR had
to pay their use fee but didn't collect any registration fee to cover
it. Try to discourage anyone scamming TCR in the future if you know
about um.

Well said Fritz, we have the same problem at the Kentucky Speleofest.
There are two caving preserves in Kentucky that are supported by caving
events.
For every person who goes out of their way not to pay takes away money
that could be used the up keep, maintenance, improvements of the preserves.
Campgrounds are getting harder to find, much less rent for groups like us.
And there is also the cost of event insurance that cuts into the profits. The
bottom line is those people are enjoying the benefits and have no idea or
care about what it takes to host an event and what the net profits are used
for. I've been following the Texas cave scene for several years now. The
TSA and TCMA are both great organizations that work to protect the caves of
Texas. I know a few of you personally and are friends with some of you on
Facebook and only know rest of you from the here. My hats off to all the
great work being done in Texas.

Maybe a different "registration fee" for those who can't/don't want
to eat the provided fare: charge a " camping only" fee (flat fee per
family). I suspect this would be a bookkeeping nightmare, but some
logistics genius could figure it out, and TCR would reap a few more
pennies to cover the costs. ..... just a thought.
